Letter From Your President

Dear Jaguar Family,

From the moment I attended my first USA Day, I knew—without even needing a campus tour—that the University of South Alabama was where I belonged. The energy, the sense of community, and the opportunities that radiated from this campus told me everything I needed to know. Now, years later, I am both humbled and deeply honored to serve as your Student Government Association President.

I’m not a new face to SGA. Over the years, I’ve proudly served as a Freshman-at-Large & First Year Council President, Senator for the College of Arts and Sciences, and Vice President. Each of these roles has helped shape my leadership, deepen my understanding of our student body’s needs, and fuel my passion for service.

Beyond SGA, I’ve been fortunate to be involved in over 15 clubs and organizations here at South. Some of the most meaningful experiences have been serving as a Resident Assistant for two years, working as a South Guide, and serving in Circle K International. I’m also currently serving as President of both Collegiate 100 and the Pre-Law Society.

As your SGA President, I am hyper-focused on making sure every student's needs and concerns are heard and voiced. Whether it’s improving campus resources, enhancing student life, or advocating for change, you can trust that SGA is here to listen and act. My door is always open, and I invite you to stop by the SGA Suite (214) in the Student Center any time. You’re also welcome to join us at our public meetings held every Monday that school is in session.

The most valuable piece of advice I can give to any new or returning student is this: get involved and stay involved. With 270+ clubs and organizations on campus, there’s a place for everyone to belong. South is more than a school, it’s a family. And we want YOU to be a part of it.

As we begin this exciting new year together, I can’t wait to meet you and see the amazing impact you’ll make. Just like a jaguar leaves its paw print in the wild, I look forward to seeing the powerful and lasting paw print you’ll leave on this university.

GO JAGS!

Thank you,

KC Crusoe
